Shrine of the Aquilla - Part 1

Hi, so here is my first attempt at a video blog showing how I go about making good quality scenery for my business and events.

When I make scenery there are a few things I like to think about before or as I am building:

  • What was the buildings original function? (helps design/layout of floors, exterior and interior walls)
  • What has happened to the building? (helps design/layout of collapsed stuff or placement of barricades)
  • Who has fought over it? (helps decide what extra bits to put on there)
  • What sort of terrain does the building now sit on? (muddy ground, grass, streets etc..)
  • How is the floor held up? (very important - placement of support beams or pillars)
  • What is the main building material? (I tend to go for reinforced concrete as the core, as it allows for lots of easy to make rubble)
I believe that if you attach meaning to your scenery the greater care and effort you will put in and inevitably you will get more enjoyment out of it.
